Seth Appleby, a native of Waco, Texas, is Edda's dance partner in the ballet company, and the person whose apartment she shares. An unabashed wearer of the Green Carnation, Seth is a romantic, plunging into love at the drop of a hat. He looks upon Edda and Amos, as he does all his friends, both maternally and with the protective instincts of an Irish Wolfhound. |

A violist from Vienna, also at Juilliard, Burkhardt's thoughts outside his profession focus entirely on good food and the opposite sex. He approaches both with the eagerness of a gourmand gazing upon new dishes. He never fancies permanent ties. His only female friend, anesthetic to his honed charm, is Isabel. |
